Wheee another update

May 21, 2007

Hopefully this will be the last “update” for a while.  My original intention was to take a quick break then get the blog up and kicking on a new site that I was running.

Currently that process has only made me want to pull out whats left of my hair.

So my new plan is to keep this blog up and running until that site is ready to go.  So hopefully later today or first thing tomorrow we will be back up and running with the 100 movie reviews.

Thanks for the patience.

Another quick update…

May 17, 2007

One of the technical problems I’m having is that I’m in the process of setting up my own domain to host my blog on on a permanent basis.

Not that I don’t like the “freeness” of WordPress, I just wanted to try it on my own.

I have the bare minimum up at (removed) but I’m still having trouble getting my side bar items set and some other issues.

I know I only have maybe 10 people in the world who read this blog but please be patient as I’m trying to get this moved over.

If you have any suggestions or can link me to some guides on how to make this smoother I would really appreciate it.

Quick Update

May 14, 2007

Sorry for the delay in posts.  I have had some personal and technical issues.

I plan to take a very short hiatus, maybe a day or so then get back to the list to finish it out.

100 Movies in 100 Days: Day 17 – The Princess Bride

March 28, 2007

So far I’ve never met anyone who does not like The Princess Bride, that goes for men and women.  Of course this should be fairly self evident since the anniversary edition came in a boys “Swashbuckler” and girls “Buttercup” editions.

Rob Reiner directed The Princess Bride and it originally hit theatres in 1987.  I personally don’t remember the first time I saw it but I do know that I liked it immediately.

The Princess Bride tells the story of Westly and Buttercup and their tale of how true love conquers all, but this movie is so much more than that.  The key to this movie is the humor and how its not overpowering but is a powerful undercurrent to the film.   Plus having Andre the Giant play a giant in the movie is classic too.

100 Movies in 100 Days: Day 16 – Big Trouble in Little China

March 27, 2007

In 1986 John Carpenter brought us Big Trouble in Little China and taught us “It’s all in the reflexes.”

Kurt Russell stars as Jack Burton in a movie that is truly a buffet bar of movies.  What I mean is that this movie has just about everything in it.  Action, adventure, humor, hot Asian chicks, Chinese hells, monsters, and Kim Cattrall before she became famous on Sex in the City.

This is a just a great fun movie that does not take itself to seriously and fun to watch every time.

Quick Update and the Immediate Future

March 9, 2007

Hey sorry for no posts so far this week, here are a few updates and my plan for the near future.

The Look - Changed the look of the blog a little just to try something new.  I may change it back but I’m not sure.

100 Days 100 Movies – Starting Monday the 12th I’m going to try to review 100 movies in 100 days.   I find I blog when I’m a little more focused so this will be and interesting challenge.  The movies will be varied, at least along the lines of the movies I like.  These movies are in no particular order so we are not counting down to anything.  Also if I pick a movie that has sequels (Star Wars) or other iterations (James Bond) I will bunch them together and just mention some of my favorites in that group.

So far my list is up to 50ish so if you think of a movie that should be considered just let me know.

Of course Monday’s review will be easy since I’m going to see 300 today.

Cya Monday.

A quick note…

February 26, 2007

Sorry for the lack of posts last week, had some work related items come up.  I also removed the song until I can have it shut off when video plays or at least find a few more songs to rotate thru.  That song started to go from really good, to grating on my nerves like that stupid Dawson’s Creek theme song.

As always thanks for you patience.

The Look

February 8, 2007

Ok I think I have the look of the blog down.  I want it to look good before I start to fill it up with posts.

The song selection will change as I venture about more on the website.  Currently it is not set to repeat or be that loud (set at 50% volume), but the repeat part may change.  It’s a fine line between listening to a song twice because it’s good and the repetative drone of background music.

I’m also going to update my flicker photos s0000n, probably this weekend.

As far as the links or “blogroll” goes I’m just going to put a couple there no need to put a whole list of favorites.

 That’s all for now.
